I LOVE this Old World-type image! I’ve wanted to paint this for years, but was hesitant because it looked so difficult. I finally painted it in November, 2019, after lots of practice and painting many pictures over the years. I used wet-in-wet, layering and glazing, dry-brush, stippling, softening edges, and almost every technique I know.
We ALL need to put in those “brush miles” as artist, Angela Fehr, recommends, and to paint images that make our heart sing!
Thanks to artist Robert J. O’Brien for his support and suggestions.
Image size: 11 X 14″.
Original sold.
Who is orig artist of this painting?? Anyone?

The watercolor artist of this painting is Lee Muir-Haman. The image was painted from a photograph many years old; the name of the photographer, unfortunately, was lost or they would have been credited. The painting will never be for sale, is intended for my learning purposes.

Truly arresting painting with a strong presence. Beautifully laid down vibrant green wash, especially on right hand side of jug – lovely! π

Thanks for your comment! I’m glad you enjoyed the painting. If you have an image you’d like to paint, I encourage you to give it a try. If it doesn’t come out as well as you expect, don’t give up, paint something else for now. Practice. Learn. Improve your skills, then try again. If you keep painting, it WILL all come together. Don’t let frustration or fear stop you!
